Hello! I do believe a ghost can in fact follow one home. Connecting itself to your enegy, it will hitch a ride. I have had an experience recently that helps me to answer this query. I like to think I live in a calm and peaceful home in Southern New Hampshire. It is an antique cape that was built in 1801. The sense I have about my home is that everyone who lived and died here (there were many) was happy with their lot in life and moved on when the time came. My wife does not allow me to stir up anything here in the house. So the tool kit is not used here! >("A happy wife is a happy life>!") Remember that men!) Recently, I was at my friends house about 30 miles up the road. Earlier in the evening, my friend returned from a weekend event in Salem,MA (GhostStock7) As I was getting ready to leave for home, we heard a crackle and bang in the kitchen. We are both familiar with the activities of a haunting, and the sound could not be de-bunked. I did a walk around the house, room by room and found nothing out of place or order. I bid farewell and headed home.

I arrived home at about 1AM in the morning and went right up to bed. As I was laying in bed, I could sense a thickness in the air. The room felt busy. I lay there on my back looking at the ceiling. I could see a deeper darkness (for a lack of a better description) swirling around a darkened ceiling. As I lay there watching this activity, I heard a bang and crackle. Identical of that which we heard earlier in the evening 30 miles west of my home. BUT, I was able to catch the source of this noise. As it banged, my reflexes shot my head towards the sound at the window, and there it was. An arch of electricty, an electrical orb, climbing the mini blinds like a Jacobs Ladder. An hour later, I was awakened to the same sound, loud and clear on my wifes side of the bed. I was to slow to see the electrical discharge that second time.

What was it? I believe that it was the same entity that we heard at my buddies house earlier in the evening and it simply connected itself to my energy and snuck on home with me. The next day my friend told me he had cleansed the house that evening around the same time I heard my bang;crackle! So i do believe that a spirit, ghost, entity, or whatever you want to call it, can indeed travel with you!

Bravo on your post. You gave great information. More people need to have respect, and be trained well. It's important to go into a investigation in a good state of mind, and with a opening prayer.

I do not agree with your closing prayer, since many spirits come and go, and what right do we have to try to hold them to a building. (Just my 2 cents). Other than that, I agree with your post.

My team also says the St Michael prayer, and we smudge with sage/sweet grass after the investigation to help prevent attachments.

Oh yes, they can follow you home....and amen to people who have no clue what they are getting into when they jump into "investigating" after watching a few TV shows. Most people have no clue as to the dangers that are involved in paranormal research, investigation, or playing with things they shouldn't ...magic, boards ect...
How exactly are your investigators fully trained? What type of classes do you offer/require? Do you give tests??? What areas are covered? I am just curious as many different people say they are trained..but as far as I know there is not a recognized ..accredited paranormal research certification accepted by all. I do believe that an understanding of the present theories of hauntings, recognizing demons, and the dangers involved must be covered as well as the use of equipment and who to call when you run into a very negative or demonic force is mandatory. I think the problem is there is little agreement on most of these subjects.
I always use the God protection Prayer, St. Micheals prayer and my own prayer before going in St. Micheals prayer, and my own prayer before going in and upon leaving.
Protection Prayer
The Light of God surrounds me,
The Love of God enfolds me,
The Power of God protects me,
The Presence of God watches over me,
And, wherever I am, God is.

I also use the following binding prayer before leaving a location as well as commanding any and all spirits/persons (in case they don't know they are dead) to leave my car and forbid them in the name of Jesus Christ and God to follow me, attatch to me or go to my home by any means.

"In the name of Jesus Christ, by the power of His cross and blood, we bind the spirits, powers and forces of the earth, the underground, the air, the water, the fire, the netherworld and the satanic forces of nature.
We rebuke any curses, hexes, or spells sent against us and send them directly to Jesus for Him to deal with as He will. Lord, we ask You to bless our enemies by sending Your Holy Spirit to lead them to repentance.
We bind all interplay, interaction and communication of evil spirits. We claim protection of the shed blood of Jesus Christ over us. Thank you for your protection, Lord. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.


so far this has worked for me....interested in what others do to protect themselves. Do those of you who are gifted have other methods that work well for you ??? just curious

Julianne, please do not advocate for an "accreditation" on paranormal studies/training. Accredited and licensing would not go well with this sort of profession/interest.

OMG, that's what Dr.Hunter was talking about, I didn't pay that much attention to it, but reading these posts its sinking in now, maybe its a blonde thing or something, I'll make SURE I pay more attention from now on!

Yes great post!!! I do believe and have had it happen. One from a cemetery. Not mean but a wonderful energy believe it or not!!!! lol Only messed with my husband and his stuff lol.. He is back in his place I believe, but some tend to follow or want to follow me home, even from the Sloss Event!!! Thank you for the prayers, some don't know what to do to protect themselves correctly or efficently!!!! your buddy!!!!

I always say a prayer before and after a hunt because I don't want anything following me home. My wife and I recently had to cleanse our house because we had something there. I saw it one night when I walked out of the bedroom, it was standing right by the bedroom door. I think I scared it as much as it scared me, LOL. We have our own way of cleansing and it seems to work. Our prayers seem to work to keep spirits from attaching themselves to us when we're on an investigation so I think I'll just keep saying them, if for no other reason than to satisfy my own mind.

Cotton if it works for you that is what matters....Prayers are very powerful as long as there is true faith behind them...and it sounds like you have that so you are all set. I have cleansed my home with prayer, but never had to do so with a powerful demon and hope I never do. I don't mind spirits visiting as long as they do not bother (scare)my children (who can see and hear them) and are not negative. Once I know they are here my girls and I cross them over. Luckily we have not had trouble there just one little girl who followed us home from a cemetery and she only came (I believe) because she knew the girls could help her, which they did. Others come to my girls seemingly out of nowhere for help...so we help them. The little girl taught me that prayers are necessary for all investigations...all the time... even in daylight hours when you think nothing is there because there just might be...but it was all good for us and the little girl. I have had one minor demon come after an investigation(demonic infestation) I guess they sent the little guy or the big guys couldn't get in I don't know...it was not attached, nor did it come with me...it messed with me after contacting the paranormal clergy ..just showed up to mess with me and I guess discourage me from getting help for the person...It didn't bother my children and was very weak and prayers got rid of it...it was just trying to scare me and when it didn't work and I fought back it left...Lucky me :)

I don't really believe that ghostsly follow a person home but I do believe that they attach themselves to a person and piggyback a ride into your life, if you will;If you consider this following someone home then I guess that it is. Keep in mind some ghosts mean no harm and some are demonic in nature, some are harmless and some are not. I live in paranormal central in a real haunted victorian home but the ghosts who live here for the most part are quiet, considerate, boring ghosts who once in a while kick up their ghostly heels by play parlor tricks and pranks. For me living with ghosts is normal and I have learned to live with it, with no ill effects.

If you feel that the ghosts which are as you put it following you home and you feel that these ghosts are threatening or mean you harm then by all means prayer and the bible are a great idea. If you can live with with the Casper the friendly ghosts of the world, living in your house along side of you then great. The best bet with most friendly, quiet ghosts is to just ignore them and usually they will try their best to respect you and leave you alone as a general rule. I have often found this to be the case, living in a haunted victorian home and I have found that it works well, The Casper the friendly ghosts and I get along great.

Linda, I don't mind friendly ghosts but by the time they get into your home it is too late to decide if they are friendly or not...afraid I have known too many people who have been followed home..the ghost caught a ride with them as you put it ...I like that...but however you want to state it they will follow you home...I have had it happen (though my situation luckily turned out ok.)..for many it does not... many were not kind or quiet and are often mean and sometimes demonic in nature. It is much better to prevent them from coming in the first place. Now if I were to move into a home where there were already spirits that were not evil I would be fine with that...I would try to cross them over so their souls could continue to progress on it's journey as it is meant too, but if they didn't want to go then I would have no problem living with them. The problem is MANY people have spirits that are NOT good follow them home after an investigation...it is not uncommon and once they are in your home you are at a disadvantage if they are not nice or demonic...Personally I am going to keep up my prayers and keep anything from coming home with me. I am more than willing to help them on their territory, but not in my home...experience has shown that not being careful and allowing things to come into your home especially after an investigation is a BAD idea.

They can follow you home in many ways. On the physical plane and on the spiritual plane (if you are one for bi-location). You don't physicaly have to visit a "haunted" location even thinking on it strongly enough could be enough.

I went with a dear friend who was teaching me on conducting an EVP session. He tried to get me to recite the prayer. He was shocked that I told him I don't follow his belief system. I just don't want to use his prayer method but if he wants he can pray and I'll stand there quietly out of respect. I say whatever works for you, by all means do it. Do whatever you can to protect yourself. I have my own method and so far no hitchhiker...lol
