International Paranormal Acknowledgment Awards

There was a very interesting case in the papers last week about a ghost haunting a hospital in Derby.

Would be very interested to read the experiences of other people who have had ghostly encounters in hospitals.

There is something you may be interested in checking out. This is about a ongoing study regarding the human consciousness living beyond physical death. I would love to be a part of this team.

A friend of mine is a hospital nurse. And she mentioned how very interesting the night shift can get with the added input of spirits. Most of the nurses know about it, but a lot of them deny it.

I can tell you as a medical professional for 24 years that every hospital I have ever worked at has more than one ghost story. ST Edward in Fort Smith on one ward last room on the left has an old man in a gown that comes out of the room from time to time and looks down the hall. He has scared many nurses because they go there to tell him he needs to stay in his room because it is an Isolation room. Then they will find out that there is either no one in the room or that there is a woman in the room, or sometimes the patient is tied to the bed and can't get out. lol. Definitely not the man standing in the hall regardless. There is also a story of a young girl that runs down the halls. I can tell you that if you have a chance to investigate a hospital (any hospital) do it.

Spirit does tend to hang around their last place of existence in the body. Particularly the conufsed and 'stuck' spirit.

I work in a hospital in a law enforcement capacity. Part of my job is to investigate any and all crimes committed on the campus. I have seen things on video such as shadow people going down hallways and much more. Of course the video can not be released to the public due to Hippa privacy laws. I find it very interesting that many hospitals are very haunted.

Not only are hospitals haunted but so are nursing and continual care homes. There have been some interesting things going on at the home where mom is a resident.
I had something interesting happen earlier this year when I was in my husbands room waiting on them to bring him from recovery. The door was slightly ajar...more close than open. I began to notice a black blob forming just inside the door.... this blob then floated across the room going between the bed and sink area before disappearing briefly only to reappear and float back the same way before disappearing for good just inside the door. There was no way a reflection from outside could have caused this..it stayed below the window level and there wasn't anything outside that could have cause a reflection.....I check for this. He was on the 3rd floor. Not long after this the fire alarms on that wing began going off...it took maintance roughly 20 minutes to get this stopped for good...they would get them stopped and they would go off again....now I am not sure if what I saw had anything to do with the alarms going off like they did but it was interesting that this happened not long after I watched this blob in his room.
Over the years I have talked with nurses about the things they see...some are more open than others about this. Recently mom had to be in the hospital and while in the ER there were several times she acted like she was watching someone in a corner of the room....she would move her head as if she were following someone....at times she seem to be talking with someone....the nurse also noticed this and told me she sees this a lot esp. with elderly patients. Mom also did this several times after she was taken to a room.

In my travels I managed to talk with a small group of nurses in a Pennsylvania hospital about their views on "patients who passed away". The question came up from me due to a picture I showed the nurses of an apparition/entity that appeared in my picture while I was venturing through the cemetery next door to this hospital. The picture creeped out the nurses. It is my belief that this cemetery next to the hospital is a "hot spot" for paranormal occurrences. I haven't gone back since the one time I left the cemetery around 2:00 A.M. only to find a police car approaching me due to complaints of camera flashes going off in the graveyard. I talked my way pass the one cop and sped off only to see the second cop arrive to back up the first cop. Back to the story, now next to this hospital there is a large medical arts building. I've been told by many hospital staff workers that the medical arts building, which is a typical 9 to 5 operation, has much paranormal activity as opposed to the hospital. At this particular hospital the nurses here have a little ritual of sorts they do in respect to the departed one who has pass away. They told me that if a patient dies they immediately open the window within the room that the patient has passed away in. They said that they feel it helps direct the spirit of the recently deceased toward their appointed destination via natures outside elements, rather than have the spirit trapped within the confines of a fortress like hospital. This seemed to make sense to me at a deeper level seeing that hospitals are saturated with a associative array of frequencies that may hinder a percentage of the recently deceased spirits in some synchronistic sense of reality. I will blog this aswell.
